These rules are in place in order to ensure that everyone that takes one of our tours has a high-quality experience. And also to ensure that our all-volunteer guide force continues to enjoy teaching Milwaukee and its visitors about our cultural heritage and built environment.
For Large Groups
If you are bringing a large group (more than 10) to one of our regularly scheduled walking tours please call the office (414)277–7795 as a courtesy to our volunteer guides. We will alert them and seek additional guides if necessary/available.
It may be that a privately scheduled tour would better suit your needs. The cost is the same, $10 per person, however we require to book a private tour that you have a minimum of 6 in your group, or pay a $60 minimum for groups of 5 or less. Private group walking tours can be scheduled at a time and day that works best for you. Click here for more info on booking a group tour
For Student Groups
If you are interested in bringing a group of students (more than 5) on one of our tours please call the office (414)277–7795. (We have guides that are better suited to student groups that can be specifically scheduled.)
Also, see Student Tours page for more information on our specific Student Tours program.
Student groups must:
- Have at least 1 chaperon per 10 students.
- Notify HMI offices at least 1 week in advance in order to take one of our regular tours.
