Doors Open Milwaukee, September 24 & 25, 2011
New York does it! Toronto does it! Denver does it! And Milwaukee’s next! In the fall of 2011 HMI will inaugurate a major annual event we call Doors Open Milwaukee (DOM). We hope to open as many as a hundred buildings in the downtown area free of charge to the public during a two-day extravaganza. From belfries to boardrooms, judicial chambers to prop shops, green roofs to private museums, DOM will be like getting a back-stage pass to buildings’ restricted areas that visitors never see. Churches, museums, theaters, clubs, office buildings, markets, shops, historic homes, cultural centers, architectural firms - any site of historic, cultural or architectural interest. Alongside these on-your-own tours, Doors Open Milwaukee will also feature dozens of free in-depth tours of the area. To make DOM a success, we need your help. NEW! History Boat Tours
Explore Milwaukee’s storied past from the unique perspective of the Milwaukee, Menomonee & Kinnickinnic Rivers. This 90 minute tour features entertaining and professional narration provided by Historic Milwaukee docents. Refreshments available on board. Admission Prices:

Focus Tours highlight a specialty topic on the history of Milwaukee or a particular architectural topic.
Call Historic Milwaukee 414–277–7795 to reserve your space. Tickets available the day of the tour, space permitting.

Historic Presentations
Historic Milwaukee offers lectures and slide shows at a nominal fee for everyone from middle school students to adult education to senior living communities.
Presentations are offered year-round.
Admission is $30.00 per slide show/lecture.
